Dockside Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Ok, I get it, the view of the lake is fantastic. We had the salad bar. Very good. Fresh. Lot's of selections. The dessert. German Chocolate Cake. We split it. It was cold, hard, doughy because of all the frosting. It tasted like the fridge. If you are going to have a zillion types of cake for dessert, you at least must make them fresh. Not bake them a month ago, or so it tastes like it.

The best part of this place is the view. My husband and I went there at sunset to share a bottle of wine and some calamari. It ended up being $40 so not to bad. The servers were friendly enough and the manager brought us the app. Definitely worth going to for a treat.

I was only in Coeur D'Alene for a few hours, and stopped by here to get brunch. We chose not to get the buffet, simply because we weren't ready to fork up $30. I got the bagel and lox, and the smoked salmon was delicious! My boyfriend got some type of omlete with sausage and ham. Both were good, but I think mine was better. The service was average. $2 mimosas for brunch on Sundays is nice! And the view is certainly nothing to complain about either.

has lunch here, chicken wrap was amazing, best I've ever had, husband and fish and chip real good too. recommend, good view, the coffee to complete lunch was ok but still good, nice atmosphere and view of coeur d'Alene lake, customer service was quick and good. Hotel resort filled with shops to check out, and you can get parking validated. pricing is very reasonable

Came here for dessert with my friends late on Sunday night. Their dessert options are incredible and definitely shareable! I recommend the huckleberry shake, huckleberry cobbler, and any of their gooeys, their signature ice cream sundae. Beautiful views of the lake and plenty of seating!

Four Days into our vacation in Coeur d Alene and we've eaten here at the Dockside four more times. Still can't beat the value and food quality, yummyness, atmosphere and service.

Very nice restaurant inside the CDA resort. I have come here several times for lunch. This really is a 5 on view and a 3 on food. Well their deserts get a 10!! Prices are high but the views are fantastic. Their salad bar is always fresh, but could use some additional options. The menu has some interesting options but is not as good as the view . I have tried the steak and the stir fry. Both were not bad. Their deserts are to die for though!! Try em all!! TWICE EVEN!!

I give Dockside three stars based on two things and two things only: the view and the dessert. The food leaves much to be desired. You have the typical American fare of burgers, fish and chips and fettuccine alfredo. They do what Applebee's, Red Robin and TGI Fridays do; and that is a lot of things.... OK. The view is killer. I just wished the menu matched.

Broad gluten-free menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, PLUS dessert with a gorgeous lakeside view. They're famous for their Gooey's, an oversized Sundae with different versions to choose from. They're amazing! Yes, there are cheaper places to eat, but if you want a place to go to make a statement, shake it up or have good gf food then the Dockside will do it.

There are few places as beautiful as Lake Coeur D'Alene especially on a beautiful day and the Dockside is positioned perfectly to sit and enjoy those views all during brunch. The booths are setup to give everyone a chance to look out on the beautiful water. I have visited many times over the years and the service has always been consistent even on busy days. In addition to a solid breakfast menu they offer a fairly impressive buffet on Sunday mornings. The Eggs Benedict is one of the best as well as the smoked salmon omelette. They also have a great selection of huckleberry options which gives a nice opportunity to take advantage of a local fruit! I always take my out of town visitors here because it is a great introduction to the beautiful northwest!

Had brunch here on Sunday.. It was good. Great server. Dessert table wasn't all that tasty but for the most part it was yummy

This was a great quick, I am starving but want to sit down lunch spot. Menu was turkey-melt-ish and atmosphere was alright. There is a large salad bar that looked fresh and really good. There big "piece de resistance" is the GOOEY DESSERT MENU. We didnt try it - but enjoyed watching the sun-burnt kids in their swim trunks dive in! :)

Really tasty salmon patty burger ($15.99). Pretty waterfront location. Validated parking with restaurant purchase.

Always delicious and the waitstaff is fabulous! If you're into salad bars, take the time to check theirs out.

Decent food, expensive and they did not accept the food voucher that they gave to every ironman participant. Unfortunate especially because they are the host hotel.

My family and I came for the Christmas brunch which was good. The buffet food was labeled indicating what the dish was and said to ask server about the gluten free option available for the dish. When I asked the server (who was great) she didn't know what I was talking about, but found a manager to ask. There wasn't an alternative to the dishes already made so I ended up eating mostly for the standard salad bar and veggies from the anti-pasta bar. This was really good, but not worth the $40 cost of the meal. The brunch didn't even include mimosas. Though I did have a couple huckleberry mimosas which were amazing! Overall, the view was fantastic, the service was good and the food okay, but not worth the high price.

Their salad bar is a bit spendy but definitely worth it, the view is amazing and the food is always cooked just right and very flavorful. Sometimes the service is a little slow and I wish the menu was a little bigger, but great place overall.

Dockside is one of my favorite places. Their food is absolutely wonderful...their chef staff truly knows what they are doing. Me and my family go for their Sunday brunch about once or twice a year and it is our absolute favorite. It is definitely a bit pricey, but BEYOND worth it. Their food is so gourmet and amazing..I have yet to try a bad thing! The view of the lake is breathtaking and the staff always seems to be nice. I also enjoy their Gooey desserts...yummy! I most definitely recommend Dockside to all!

Just had breakfast here and the food was incredible. I ordered the crab eggs benedict w/ my hashbrowns "crispy all over" and they did it perfectly. Normally your hashbrowns are soft and I don't like that at all. They hit a homerun. You gotta try this!! Waitress was extremely dialed in. Best I've had in a long time. Thanks Elise.

It's in the resort, but validates the parking with the meal. Was disappointed to be seated in the back when it looked like better views were available. Don't know how it relates to reserving on Open Table. We were there for dinner. Started off with a good martini, but my husband scored with the adult grape soda- mulled grapes, vodka, white cranberry juice and champagne-very good. Cioppino Idaho style with potato nuggets. Actually liked it and the seafood was good. A bit bland on the sauce, but would try it again. Good and attentive service.

We have been to the Dockside Resturaunt inside the Coeur d Alene resort many times. The food is average and a bit overpriced but the deserts are very good. They viable gluten free options for you celiacs out there. All in all, the service is good, the view is good and the deserts arrived the top. Another good experience.

  • Kelsey W.

First of all, I have been coming to the dockside since I was a kid and I have had GREAT experiences everytime! I especially love their Gooey's desserts. DELICIOUS!!! My last experience, however, was not so great... I came with my family on 12/23/14. The food was bland, overcooked, and overcharged. $18 for a two-piece fish n' chips?! That's crazy!!! What a dissapointment! Only going here for the desserts for now on.

We were hoping to see the lake from the windows of the Dockside restaurant, but the only view consisted of blue tarps/awnings over the myriad of yachts and boats. It was very disappointing. I thought and hoped and naively assumed this was going to be a cute and quiet little town lakeside restaurant. Instead, it was more like a fancier Denny's with a crowd straight out of a cruiseship. Not my kind of a place or vibe or palate. The service was fine and our waitress was nice. But.. I couldn't wait to leave. I know it sounds terrible but this place, full of rich spoiled-looking teens and smug senior citizens, made me cringe. Why did we stay and have lunch instead of turning around? We were tired, on a long drive and didn't have the energy or the time to drive elsewhere to find a different place. And we were hungry :)

  • Gene K.

Best clam chowder I have ever had, and I've eaten the chowders in San Fran, Seattle , Maine and Boston to mention a few places..big hunks of clams , not a lot of potatoes and great flavor with bits of bacon..had the seared ahi, really good ...waiter started of as a rock star then got onto the missing in action category.. Thus the "4" stars...he seemed to disappear ...we waited for our deserts forever...nice guy, but seemed distracted...nice view of the lake..

Come here for the salad bar and dessert!! The food is average and reasonably priced but the desserts are awesome! Great views of the lake and a nice atmosphere! Perfect way to enjoy CDA!

  • Shweta D.

People come here for the view more than the food ! They have huge Windows and you can see the beautiful lake. We stayed in the resort and went to this restaurant for the last lunch before we left. The welcome staff were highscool girls giggling and talking amongst themselves when we arrived. They took 10 mins to give us a table when there was a lot of seating available, their was no one in front of us and finally they gave us some other table! Our server was good and competent. She was very prompt and got us all the good dishes. The quantity was a lil less but the taste was very good . Everybody gets their butterfinger sundae but we dint have the guts to eat all that. So we got a smaller one. N it was really good. Must try out if you are visiting!

  • Jaclyn H.

I just go there for their salad bar and soup. I'm not a big 'salad bar' person, but this one always does the trick! Sometimes they don't put their soup out, which is really frustrating because that's the entire reason we go in the winter time.

My family decided to go out for our Christmas meal and decided on Dockside's Christmas.Buffet. We sat at table 13 with the best view and our server was awesome. The buffet was wonderfull with the exception of the prime rib which was dry and only medium offered when I asked for as rare as possible. There was a children's buffet table set up that included chicken strips and corn dogs on skewers and much more. Great added feature with our grandchildren. Dessert table was plentiful and the staff was on top of not only refilling quickly but making sure the presentation looked great. Definitely will recommend this restaurant to others.

I really wanted my visit to be enjoyable but, unfortunately, was disappointed this time around. Dockside has such potential, but it can't seem to decide what kind of restaurant it wants to be. It resides in the Coeur D'Alene resort and offers beautiful lakeside views for diners. The menu and pricing would suggest finer dining, whilst the food and ambiance make it feel like any other chain restaurant. My biggest beef was with the salmon cakes. They weren't bad, but could have been much better, especially considering wild pacific salmon are in full season! My family has visited Dockside several times over the years for dinner or just dessert. My mom remains a devoted fan of their salad bar, and since I've never tried it I wont knock it. I remember the ice cream desserts could stop one in their tracks by just the sheer size, but since we didn't do dessert this time I can't judge. If you're looking for a place to please about anyone, i suppose Dockside fits the bill at a fairly high cost. But if you're looking for an elevated dining experience, I'd say there are better options in the immediate vicinity.

Love this place. It's beautiful and affordable. Foods great and service was fast and friendly. Views are awesome. I love the lunches! Nice clean tables and the best gooeys ever!

  • Mike C.

Came to this resort for work. This place was the only place opened for lunch. The view was ok as you can see the lake but pending on where you sit may end up looking at the blue awning for the boats. They offer a buffet as well as ordering from the menu. The menu has seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Nothing too fancy.

The view is good but I was not impressed with the restaurant. The kitchen is open and can be viewed as you enter. It was filthy. I would have walk out after seeng very poor cleanliness of the kitchen but I was meeting extended family for dessert. My son is allergic to soy. The staff and the chef could not tell me if any of the dessert did or did not contain soy. How do you not keep a list of ingredients on hand for guests with allergies.

I have never been disappointed going to this restaurant! It's in a lovely spot, the food is always fantastic, the people are nice and helpful, and the service is great. I even asked for a recipe to a dish my date really liked and they gave it to me! That just made my day. :)

You will have to drag me in this place kicking and screaming to get me to go back! Likely some of the worst service I've ever had (thanks to our server Brett) who not only didn't bring our food himself but never checked on how AWFUL the food was either and just brought us the bill. I wish I would have up and left without paying but I have morals and have faith in karma. Sausage, eggs, French toast... All dreadful. You're better off going to Starbucks for breakfast. I wish I would have.

I've recently had two poor experiences with Dockside. I came once with a group of people, we ordered one regular size Gooey, two dinners, and a personal Gooey. We ended up with two full sized gooeys and the table across from us got our personal sized one. We ended up not saying anything, figuring it was just a bad night for the poor waiter. However, my second bad experience there made me decide to never go back. I asked for a kids menu because I hungry enough to eat anything else and the waitress told me "I can't give you one, they're for kids 12 and under". Usually I can respect that, but upon further investigation of the menu, I realized they don't even have lighter options for adults. During that same dining experience, my friend tried to order macaroons, which are pictured on the menu and was met will "sorry, that's frustrating for us waitresses too, we don't actually have them." So she ordered a cake pop instead, which was dry and not satisfactory. It's a shame because I used to really enjoy dockside. It's gone downhill over the past few years and I would no longer recommend it to anyone

  • Dan R.

Dockside used to be better a few years ago. I started coming here less and less because each time it was a little worse. Every time I ordered there buffalo burger it was cooked wrong, EVERY TIME! So the last time we ate here might just be the last. It's disappointing because it is a nice atmosphere right on the lake but that's about it. I still like the salad bar and the lunch all you can eat chili and salad so there is a chance we'll still hit that every now and then. I will say the Gooies are an experience and fun for the kids so you may just want to skip dinner here and do desert

    (2)
  • Chris G.

I enjoyed the view the most. The wait staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Save room for dessert. They were voted number one for a reason. My suggestion is that the entrees could use some more spice. Valet was free so I would eat here again.

A few days ago my boyfriend and I finally signed a lease for a house after living in a motel for a few weeks after moving to the area. We decided mimosas were in order as a celebration, so we headed over to dockside. We decided to split a breakfast plate as we weren't too hungry. We had the tradition American breakfast which came with 2 pieces French toast, 2 bacon and 2 eggs... Price is a bit steep so I was insanely underwhelmed with my eggs not being cooked properly and in what appeared to be a 1/4 stick of butter. If you charge $11 for a simple and small breakfast than YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY COOK EGGS! The mimosas were small and inexpensive $4ea. The service was friendly and the hostess was also friendly... I would give 2 stars but holy hell, THE FRENCH TOAST IS EPIC and the view is phenomenal! I would stay away for the eggs here but I could eat that cornflake crusted French toast made on halloa-bread every day.

Stay at the resort all the time, love it. This time we had to stay off resort because we needed to be closer to family. So we drove in to the resort just for the food. We were so disappointed. All the food came at once, so most was eaten cold because it all stacked up. The dipping sauce for the calamari was good, the muscles were good but the vegetables with my husbands roast beef were overcooked and unseasoned and my seared tuna was awful, they barely seared it and it was too large to cook in the manner they did so it was ick. The vegetables had an Asian sauce on my plate, I ate that but it was no where near worth $30 for the vegetables that were edible. Couldn't believe the server asked if everything was OK while I had a mouthful of vegetables and took the plates seeing the tuna was barely touched and didn't think to say anything when she put the check on the table, she really didn't care if we enjoyed our late lunch or not. NOT GOOD.

  • H.F. D.

Food was just OK (hotel food) and very expensive. The much discussed "18 foot salad bar" was no better than many casual dining establishments. Service was tolerable, but nothing to write home about. The only redeeming feature is the view, if you can negotiate a window table.

    (2)
  • Kent H.

I'd have to say the view and decor are top notch. The food on the other hand, just about average. I had the ahi tuna, maybe that was the problem? While some pieces were not bad, the others were fairly chewey, not something I would expect for tuna. I ordered this along with the famous salad bar as the menu had put it, decent selection I guess, but I never ended up going for a second round, something I usually do when there is an available salad bar. Lastly this meal was sided with a famous un-loaded in my case, baked potato. Potato tasted like what I had expected, eventhough I was in Idaho. Back to the view, walking on a floating platform and getting a great view of the lake. The stars do not reflect the great ambiance.

Rough start but management turned it around! We flew into Coeur D'Alene from Portland around 8:00pm. We chose Dockside as our very first stop because we were hungry and wanted a view before the sun went down. The hostess was VERY rude (I'll spare you the details) and then we sat for 15 minutes and was never greeted. We actually left the restaurant and went to the valet to get our car - which I've only done one other time in my life. What happened next knocked our socks off. The head chef (who saw us leave) and the manager ran out after us and insisted we come back and they paid for our dinner!!! We were assigned a seasoned and excellent waitress. The food was very good and the view was spectacular. Now THAT is old fashion GREAT customer service. We all make mistakes. How we recover is the important part. The next time we are there, we'll be back.

Great place inside the Coeur D Alene Resort. Not expensive and all the food is delicious. The location right on the water can't be beat, nothing but beautiful lake views form every table and booth. The wife and I always order and enjoy the Deep Six, a 64oz cocktail that hits the spot. And the Gooey deserts are ridiculously good, six of us share one of them, they are huge and only $10. Every summer we come up to visit we always come here for lunch at least twice, and the kids really enjoy it as well.

I'm mad that I hadn't discovered Dockside until this summer because I have truly been missing out. It is ideal for a family gathering, and that is what finally, fatefully, brought me there. Dockside is located on the lobby level of The Coeur d'Alene Resort at the water's edge. Views for days! As we stumbled in on a Sunday late morning (after an ill advised "nature hike") we noticed a massive and delicious looking buffet in an adjoining room and a case filled with desserts. I'm definitely coming back for you soon, desserts, but today I had more serious sustenance on my mind. I had just done a "nature hike" after all (good thing Dockside is casual because we were a little rough around the edges from our adventure). Immediately I noticed the adorable matching outfits on the wait staff. They were really just so cute. I also noticed the hyper legit salad bar. It had a nice selection of pasta salads within the salad bar that looked like they would be $14.99 a pound. So, of course I added a trip to the salad bar on with my burger and fries order. It was one of those yummy local bacon situations that exceeded my expectations. Our group of over 20 was seated in a private dining room and everyone from Baby Boy to Grandmother the Great was smiling. Cheers, Dockside!

This place is wonderful. Who ever selects the staff is very good. No snotty nose burger flipping don't want to work entitled perps here. Very professional I assume to cater to the upscale hotel clients. We came pretty casual since we were tourist. Two of us had a meal with the salad bar and two had meals without. The salad bar was fantastic with everything fresh. They have some special dressings. I had the pot roast and my guest had the appetizer crab cakes. The view was perfect over the boats and the lake. Thanks for a fun time.

Olivia was our server during our visit. We had the grass fed beef burger wrapped in thick slices of ice burg lettuce topped with avocado, bacon and cheddar cheese. Burger was cooked perfectly! Service was excellent and Olivia was very attentive. The burger came with a small side salad of fresh mixed greens. Perfect combination of you ask me as fries would ruin the taste of this delicious all natural beef burger. It's difficult to find a great burger and this is the place to go if you want one that is grass fed beef. The view from the table we sat at was the coeur d' Alene lake. Beautiful view of the boats on the lake and the sun setting while enjoying a awesome burger!

Fantastic lake view; open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; pretty reasonable prices, considering the location. Friendly service. Breakfast buffet had good selection for about $15/adults; $8 kids - eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, French toast, pancakes, eggs, fruit, cereal, etc. I had the red trout w/ eggs, and it was good, but too heavy/greasy. The spinach, feta omelet w/ asparagus was really good. Desserts looked great, too.

A BEAUTIFUL view of the lake with lots of activity from planes taking off and landing on the water, boats, jet skis, and people watching....I ordered the Bourban Glazed Steak which I devoured along with the salad bar and Famous Idaho potato. The salad bar was decent.....but the potato was just average, which in essense makes it a bit of a disapointment due to the marketing as the Famous Idaho Potato! Still....great location to the area you can have lunch and walk on the floating barge/pier afterwards or walk across the street for some shopping.

I would love to say I had a great night out with my kids but that would be a lie. We went to Dockside because my family had friends from out of town here and wanted them to experience a "gooey" I ordered three gooeys and I had the unlimited salad bar. Our waitress was great, and made us feel welcome. The ice cream was enjoyed. I had a plate of salad. And went to get another plate. On this plate I accidentally put the wrong dressing that I did not intend on the Salad. Rather than wasting food, I offered it to my children. And went and got a new plate of salad with the right dressing. That is when Lance the supervisor stepped in when I was at the salad bar. With a raised voice he informed me that I was "not to feed my entire people with salad". He did not give me a chance or the opportunity to explain why I did not want that plate of salad. He was rude, and embarrassing for me, and my children, it made my 14-year-old son comfortable he left the restaurant. It ruined our night and we left the restaurant shortly after that. On my way out behind my children, I stopped to try to him and let him know how he made me feel. He was very unapologetic and still very RUDE. I am sure this is not the appearance and the impression that couer d alene resort would like to have with their guests. I plan on calling the manager about him we will see what happens. Wanted to leave an update. The manager called me this afternoon. She took the time to listen to my story and understand what I was saying and asking. She apologized for her supervisor, and assured me that he would be talked to. It was a great conversation. I feel as though my voice was heard and mattered. I am feeling much better about this. I am sure that the supervisor will handle this differently in the future.

Had lunch here the other day with friends from out of town: food was terrible:( Ordered the Oriental salad with chicken for extra cost, they forgot the chicken and when asked they quickly brought out a nasty, microwaved chicken breast then charged me for it! My wife had the wrap: dry chicken, and they forgot the dressing! At least there was entertainment: they tried to bring out meals to the neighboring table FOUR times, even after the table had paid! The elderly ladies kept saying 'no thank you, we've already gotten our food.' I was too embarrassed to speak up with our friends there, but we won't be back.

Brunch - do the brunch and sit in Elsie's section if possible. Even if you are not right in the window to view the lake, you can see the lake from every table which makes for a nice atmosphere. My husband and I enjoyed the Sunday Brunch yesterday. It's a nice, expanded buffet in it's own room - which makes it easy to move around and not feel like you are waiting in a line to get your food. I'd start with dessert just to be sure you have room! Cupcakes, cake pops, tortes, chocolate covered strawberries and my two favorites - the mini almond tarte and the mini creme brule - wonderful wonderful. A whole table is devoted to fruits, salads, cheeses and such. There is a bacon/sausage table - do try the brown sugar bacon. Another table is all breads and rolls - be sure to try the cinnamon roll which is made of pastry crust rather than dough - light and airy. The buffet trays include things like eggs benedict, green beans, strata, pasta and the very odd sounding but tasky - poppy seed hashbrowns. Who would have thought that would be good. Included is an omelet/egg station, a crepe station and carved meat station - ham, roast beef, turkey, and salmon. Finally, a kids station that has chicken fingers, hashbrowns, and mac and cheese. This is where I was since it is kiddy food that I enjoy - best mac & cheese ever. Add all this good food and great service and you have a lovely start to your Sunday. The price included juice, milk, coffee & tea but NOT the mimosas. They are in the buffet room and are $5 for all you can drink. A nice treat for hotel guests or we local people.

I had French toast here a few years ago and I remember it being the best French toast of all time. I went back here last weekend and was sad that I couldn't order French toast since breakfast was over. So, I opted for a turkey sandwich and the hubby got the brunch buffet. The turkey sandwich was overall tasty. The bread was buttered like Texas toast - yum! What was disappointing was that it came with the lamest avoacado slices I've ever been served at a restaurant. I had to open my sandwich and look before I saw two small measly pieces. Other than that, the sandwich was a-okay! The skinny fries accompanying the sandwich were good. Salty and crunchy! I want to go back for French toast next time I'm driving through Idaho.

this place is such a dive. this is more like a diner than a real restaurant. i'm not sure that they were deceptive since they never led me to believe that they were a decent restaurant but for god's sakes, you're in the same building as the CdA resort, how can a place with laminated menus exist there? the server seemed irritated that we were even there (until she dropped off the check of course, at which point she was beyond gracious). she looked irritated that we didn't know what we wanted to drink initially, and then stood within 5 feet of our table while she filled the salt/sugar for various tables and discussed how much she disliked her menial job. the food looked like it was prepared a week before and was scorching hot b/c it had clearly been microwaved when we ordered it (honestly, who needs a fork and a steak knife to eat halibut?). i would not go back to this place if they paid me to do so. if you're interested in a good view, then the place is decent, but go to a decent restaurant to eat before you arrive.

For the prices the food should be better. I went here with my family to try it out. I ordered a hot skillet meal. When it got to the table it wasn't hot at all. It was luke warm at best and the potatoes were supposed to be golden fried cubes but they were mushy. My mom had a toasted sandwich that was cold on the inside. My brother was the only one who said his dish was just right. He had a cheeseburger. Aside from my annoyance with the food, yeah the view is great. But I still don't think its worth what the bill came to for a lunch. Sort of ridiculous. I think if I were to come back, it would just be for some dessert.

Went here for brunch with the fam on Saturday around 9:30am. Zac was our friendly but overworked server--the place was packed soon after we arrived. Drink orders were taken right away, but it took a while for him to come and ask about food orders. I got the BBIT (Best Breakfast in Town), an egg scramble with onions, ham, sausage, cheese, hash browns, and salsa on the side. It also came with my choice of English muffin or toast. It was hearty and delicious; very satisfying after a long run! The huckleberry smoothie was a favorite of my mom's, my sister had a giant bowl of oatmeal with all the fixings, older sister had two enormous pancakes, and my brother and dad had omelets. Overall, great brunch.

We went here for lunch today and had a wrap and a sandwich. Both were delicious and fresh. The service was friendly and prompt. It was a rainy day, but if it was nicer out the view would probably have been amazing!

This place is a pretty good place to eat downtown! The view is nice and the food is pretty darn good, I usually get some fresh fish or the like. The salad bar is pretty swank, they brag about how big it is (18ft I think) but kind of spendy. I have had a decent steak there; nothing special though. The wife seems to like the burgers; they are well seasoned and juicy. The kids eat what they get and don't complain. They really like it when we let them get a "Gooey"; that is a massive ice-cream "thing" Nice, relaxed, family friendly!

This is a review just for their Sunday Brunch. A huge spread of various food from breads, pastries, salads to all the hot food items like bacon, sausage, pankcakes, waffles. Lots of fruit, too. It also has an omelet and crepe station. There was hand cut roast meats available as well. To top it off..lots of delicious desserts to end your meal. We requested to be seated outside of the restaurant facing the marina and the lake. It's much brighter out there than the restaurant location where all the food is. Wait staff was quick and attentive. You order your drinks and then go to the buffet style brunch and pick up your food there. We would go again. It's a big buffet which offers lots of breakfast options. You won't go hungry here.

We heard good things about Dockside and we weren't disappointed. We went for lunch and took our kids. The prices were about right and the view of the lake was outstanding. The food was good and the service was great. We'll be back. Plus it looked like they have some amazing desserts if you have a sweet tooth.

This restaurant simply didn't measure up to the standards I expect from a luxury resort. We stayed at the resort for four days and ate several meals here. Some waitstaff were attentive, some not. They have the same menu for dinner and lunch. The only excellent dish we had was the clam appetizer. The sandwiches were ok, not bad but not great for the price. Four of us spent almost 100 bucks on lunch and it was just ok. Breakfast was good, I had a delicious corned beef hash and my daughter had pancakes. Overall the dining in coeur dalene was disappointing.

With the exception of some 5 star resorts most hotel/resort dining is average at best. Dockside is not an exceptional restaurant for fine dining but it does have consistently good food, good service and a wonderful setting on the lake. My favorite is the Idaho ruby red trout. The buffalo burger is very good as well. For dessert the huckleberry cobbler is excellent (note desserts are very large - consider sharing). Today we enjoyed a late lunch at Dockside. I had the trout and the cobbler. Both were great. The service was outstanding - great job Brooke (at least that was the name on her name tag). CDA has many good places to eat and Dockside is one of them. It does seem that the CDA Resort service in general has improved over the past couple years. Don't know if they have changed some managers or what but there does seem to be a real effort at customer service.

Frosted Flake coated french toast? I think YES! Inside the CDA resort, and we ate here 3 times in 2 weeks. Nice view of the marina and located close to shops. For breakfast the best thing I had was the frosted flake coated french toast which was yummy! For dinner I opted to ask them for something simple. The lime chicken they use for the sandwich I asked for just the chicken and veggies which was good (hold the sandwich part). The last time I got chicken and prawn pasta which was not good. The chicken and shrimp was ok but the pasta was WAY overcooked, like mush. They just pour the sauce over the top so under the pasta was dry. Its ok compare to eating in the pubs around town all the time.

In the Coeur D Alene Resort over looking the Lake and boat marina. Fun place to have lunch and enjoy the view. The restaurant dining area is large and open. Fun to watch people and enjoy the scenery. They have some interesting entrees and a pretty good wine list featuring Pacific Northwest wines.

For such a beautiful view the food and service sure doesn't match. I ordered the Mac and cheese which was nothing special. I felt it was very oily. My husband hoped for his usual of a buffalo burger however with the new menu it was no longer offered. He ordered a club and again it was nothing special. Instead of fries he requested a side salad which came in such a tiny bowl, we get a larger side salad at Mcdonalds. Food is pricey when there are too many other better choices in the area. Service is lackluster, almost if you seem to be a bother. The desserts look nice but we didn't want to add to our already pricey bill which was over 30.00 . It will be our last visit.

Came here for breakfast with another person today. Our food wasnt the best thing ever, but it was pretty good. My omelette was a little dry, but wasnt terrible, and when I asked for sourdough toast, they gave me something like an english muffin. Our service was satisfying. Coming again!

Just go have lunch there. It's so sweet to have a great view and super food and service for no more than anyplace else we had eaten on our trip. The hotel was too pricy for us, but this was a real high point for us. Loved this place.

We have gone to the Dockside for their (formerly) awesome Sunday brunch for a few years now. This place used to be incredible - huge piles of chilled smoked salmon and shrimp cocktail, crème brulee French toast, pastries, a chocolate fountain for fondue strawberries, a crepe and omelet station, it went on and on. They still have a passable brulee French toast, but gone were the chocolate fountain and cold seafood and the hot dishes were not as numerous - or as good - as before. TONS of dessert pastries, but not my choice for brunch. They recently remodeled the seating, and the booths and tables are now cramped and it's difficult to pass through with plates - the dining area is way too far from the food area now and closer proximity is needed for the buffet. The service was okay but not as good as it used to be - it seemed to be overstaffed with hostesses and understaffed with servers. This is a pricey brunch which used to be well worth the expense. Now, it's just way overpriced for what you get.

The view is nice. You will pay a slight premium due to the fact that it is placed in a fancy resort. The "famous" salad bar is nothing more than a pizza hut style salad bar. I don't want to be harsh and I didn't have anything else aside from the salad bar, but this place was kind of like an over priced denny's. The staff was polite.

The food here is so-so. The dessert is why it gets a 3. The dinner, for starters, tasted like it was out of a box. My potatoes were so thick and "froo-frooed" that they were almost inedible(and I'm a potato obsessed woman here). The chicken was covered in half-cooked peppers. and the chicken was pounded flat and VERY overcooked. It was like rubber. It also happened to look a lot like the chicken pieces fast food chains get for sandwiches that are microwavable. Ew. the sauce was a basic butter sauce. Not exactly memorable and NOT worth the $15. Decent price for a restaurant, but still. I can get better at Olive Garden chains. The desserts are what you should come here for. Expensive, maybe. Delicious is a definite! The cheesecake is amazing and perfect, especially with huckleberry sauce. The gooeys are really good, and a giant one is perfect for 3 or 4 people(please don't try eating one all by yourself. go for a personal). Anything huckleberry from here is amazing. Also, I had a gigantic surprise last time I came here...they had tiramisu, which is my favorite dessert of all time. EVER. And this stuff was the BOMB. It had chocolate sides and chocolate syrup and was fancy and all decorated. I was so excited. They make seasonal desserts, and this was the best dessert I think I've ever had!!! So, absolutely no for dinner, but heck yes for dessert, earning 3 stars from me.

I'm not going to elaborate on the CDA resort itself... but rather on dining at Dockside... Dockside has a nice cozy environment and a terriffic little dessert bar called 'Gooey's'. If you are looking for a nice dinner... you may want to look elsewhere... I'm not a fan of the menu at Dockside. But as a place for desserts... Gooey's gets my vote. I'm a personal fan of the huckleberry cobbler with chocolate ice cream (some think it is an acquired taste). Dockside has proven to be an ideal place for late night gatherings. I often grab a bunch of friends and we head to Dockside for a little dessert and conversation.

  • Michael C.

    (3)
  • Camille M.

Beautiful location, nice staff. Stayed at the resort and had delicious traditional and vegetarian eggs Benedict

NOT GOOD.

Food was just OK (hotel food) and very expensive. The much discussed "18 foot salad bar" was no better than many casual dining establishments. Service was tolerable, but nothing to write home about. The only redeeming feature is the view, if you can negotiate a window table.
